- Can I use alternative fall protection methods (e.g. anchor points) as protection at rooftop access points?
  
  No. EN 14122 states that: “To prevent falling through the access opening at arrival areas the opening shall be provided with a gate. It also states that at “drop edges of arrival areas”, a Guardrail should be provided at least 1.5m either side of the ladder, or if the drop edge is less than 3m in length, then one should protect the entire edge.
- I currently use a chain to protect my fixed ladder – is this OSHA compliant?
  
  No. OSHA no longer considers chains to be an effective fall protection solution. The reason for this is simple – standing on a ladder and reattaching the chain during roof egress while maintaining 3 points of contact on the ladder is a dangerous activity with fatal potential.
- Will the gate pinch my fingers while I climb through the top of the ladder?
  
  The gate on Kee Guard Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points is attached to the railing and not the ladder. This enables you to transition onto the roof and push through the gate with your body – no hands needed!
- Can the Kee Guard Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points be designed as a “shoot” to direct traffic to the center of the roof?
  
  Yes, Kee Guard Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points can be installed along the roof edge to protect the fall hazard, or in 2 parallel lines to direct traffic to the center of the roof.
- Is protection needed on ladders between roof levels?
  
  OSHA requires all access points 1.2m or higher above an adjacent level to be protected, regardless if the lower level is a roof, the ground, or a work platform.
- How does the railing attach to the sides of the ladder?
  
  Our clamps are designed to clamp onto nearly any ladder style, no drilling or welding necessary.
