Kee Safety, a leading global supplier of fall protection solutions and safety railing systems, has announced the launch of Kee Track®, a highly versatile rigid rail fall protection system. Designed to provide safety in the internal workplace, this pre-engineered modular system offers installers an affordable solution that is simple to design, quote, and install.
Developed and created by professional engineers, Kee Track® is aimed at industrial and commercial applications where a protection system is required to safeguard staff who are working on top of vehicles for tank filling, maintenance, and loading. With a reduced need for engineering, Kee Track® opens new opportunities to installers who haven’t been able to offer internal workplace installations.
It is intended for use on metal roofs that feature exposed beams and purlins and thanks to an inexpensive attachment bracket, can be used in both parallel and perpendicular installations. Being modular in design, Kee Track® offers increased flexibility that allows installers to work around onsite obstacles.
Available in 3m sections, Kee Track is configurable from a range of modular galvanised components, including rigid rails, brackets and hangers, and traveler and trolleys and patent-pending clamshell rail clamps, which are fixed in place by lifting rather than sliding. Unlike other rigid rail systems that require a connection to primary steel, Kee Track attaches directly to the secondary steel, which eliminates the need for additional beams.
Following a site survey, installation can begin and requires a team of two installers working from a mobile elevated work platform. With just basic handheld tools necessary, this pre-engineered system is quick and easy to build, allowing a 50m system to be installed in a single day. This ease of installation makes the installed price extremely competitive and reduces downtime and interruptions to the end user’s work schedule.
Kee Safety will be providing its approved fall protection partners with an online training course that will focus on how to quote for the system, and how to install it safely and securely.
As with all new products, Kee Safety has completely thorough structural and performance verification testing of Kee Track at its UK test facility, where it assesses the product in several installation scenarios and examines individual track components. Kee Track is fully compliant with a number of international standards and meets the requirements of EN 795:21012, CEN TS 16415:2013, BS 8610:2017, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.140 and 1926.502, and is actively involved in preparing for ANSI Z359.19.
Kee Track® has a unique range of mounting options which ensures a secure installation for a wide variety of roof designs. It is particularly effective when users work at short free-fall distances, such as carrying out operations on trains, trucks and aircraft with low ground clearances. Added to this, the lightweight trolley with sealed bearings allows complete hands-free movement throughout the system.
